July 17-20th Big Meadows Horse Camp
Campouts are overnight and for Ride the West Current students only. Please connect with Laurie if you have questions if you are a good fit for this campout. Big Meadows is a horse campground located in the Sisters wilderness area. There is a beautiful intricate trail system that weaves through the area with opportunities for endless riding. We might hit the timing right on this one to collect some delicious huckleberries. During a campout you will have a horse assigned to you that will become your responsibility to care for, including but not limited to feeding, watering and cleaning the stall. Campers are expected to help set up camp and to participate in breaking it back down and cleaning up. All food and beverages will be provided, however, if you have diet restrictions or allergies, please be sure to share that at least a week prior to the campout. Also, you are welcome to bring any snacks or personal drinks along on this trip if you would like. We do have saddle bags available for each rider on the trail to bring beverages and snacks with us. These tend to sell out quick, so please book your spots sooner rather than later. Only a limited number of spots are available. Please arrive at Ride the West by noon on the 17th of July and we should return around 2pm on the 20th. A pack list will be available prior to departure. These campouts require additional information including insurance and special permission slips. You can stay in our tents as a group or are welcome to bring your own tent if you would prefer your own space. This campground has vault toilets only. You are responsible for your own bedding, bug spray, sunscreen, flashlight, and camera, oh and clothing of course!
