Abraham
Honest Abe is everyones favorite to ride. A registered trakehner, he’s been a part of the family since he was 1 1/2 years old. He has quite the personality and excels at dressage and lower level jumping. He is extremely athletic, but easy going. He is the big boss man around here though.
Daphnie
At 17 years old, Daphnie prefers the slow lane. She is the perfect beginner mount. She is slow and methodical and loves her people and is always eager to take a treat. While not too small (16 hands), she is incredibly patient and forgiving.
Sunset
An 18 year old AQHA ranch horse, sunset always feels like we need to get to the next spot. She is our horse who loves to march everywhere she goes. While she is incredibly patient being groomed and loved on, she is all about work when under saddle.
Rowdy with a Gun - aka Riddick
Riddick has been with us for 8 years now and is pretty much a jack of all trades. He has done tons of trails and camping, even shed hunting out in eastern Nevada. He has been used as a drill horse for rodeos from Eugene Pro Rodeo to Ellensberg. He has also done some team roping, jumping and dressage. He loves treats and loves to cuddle. Making this registered paint horse a once in a lifetime kinda guy.
Nala
Nala is a beautiful sooty buckskin Morgan mare. She always has a sweet expression and sure thinks treats are the best thing that has ever happened. She came with her best friend River and they are quite bonded. She’s looking forward to a wonderful summer out on the trails!
Sierra
Sierra is a 13 year old pinto horse who is finding her way here and learning to do a little of everything. She has really taken to jumping even though her roots were running around barrels. She’s also tried a little cow work.
Boone
A Long time barn favorite, Boone loves slow lessons where he get to do his barely a jog. He is 1/2 Morgan and half quarter horse and has hair for days. We just love this big plug around here.
Dulche
One of our newest horses around here…we nickname her the helicopter because she comes with all the buttons. She is a beautiful paint and is 9 years old. She’s tall and long legged at 16H.* a little side note, Dulche is a now expecting mama. Looking for a super cute paint baby coming June 2025
Ditto
Ditto is a 11 year old cow pony. She is very tolerant in the arena and out on the trails. Her true talent is with cows though, she loves to chase cows! When she’s not chasing cows, she is constantly working on training all of her humans to feed her treats on command.
Bullet
Bullet loves to make a mess in his stall!! This 21 year old big grey quarter horse is as sweet as they come and will cuddle you to no end. while primarily western, he does carry himself beautifully in a dressage saddle.
Red Baby
Red baby is still on the younger side of the lesson life, so she mostly teaches intermediate and up lessons. Full AQHA quarter horse, she has decided that she absolutely loves jumping! She’s pretty fabulous on trails too, but not so sweet to other horses.
Whiskey
Whiskey is. a 10 year old quarter horse who is a little on the lazy side, but has a very big engine when asked. He loves trails and isn't phased by much. He even found himself in the Canby rodeo in 2022 running flags.
Moose
Moose has a special place in our hearts here at ride the west. He was born in 2021 almost exactly when we opened the barn doors. July 15 is his birthday. at only 3 he is in need of starting his career here at RTW. And will be a great opportunity for kids who want to pursue horse careers to learn a little about the breaking process. He’s quite the looker Too. when you can get far enough away for a picture.
Thor and Gismo
These two little guys are quite bonded. They are very patient and great for grooming practice or a ground work lesson. At approximately 17 years old they are all grown up, even though everyone thinks they are babies! We just love them!
